In 1991, gentleman racer Franco de Paoli bought a new Range Rover and had it prepped for the Paris-Moscow-Bejing Rally taking place that same year. The event was canceled, leading to Paoli running Range Rover in the Pharaohs' Rally in Egypt that same year — and winning the T2 class. The Pharaohs' Rally took place over 3,100 miles of Egyptian desert, pushing man and machine to their limits.
