About The Product
Now we know what you are thinking. A Datsun on the pages of BritishStarters.com? Yes. As part of the reconstruction effort after WW2, British technology was licensed to Japanese manufacturers in order to rebuild the economy. When MG stopped making the MGA 1600 engine, they sold the tooling to Datsun.
We are classic car owners too, happy to help any and all owners looking to improve the reliability of their vehicles. A restoration/speed shop reached out to us and asked that we build one of our famous high torque starters for a couple of Z cars they had in the shop. We were happy to oblige.
Fits all S30 Datsuns (1969 - 1978) - Manual Transmission

INSTALLATION NOTES:
#1. Most Z cars on the road today with an original starter have a solenoid incorporated in the starter. If your starter has been altered, and utilizes a remote solenoid, and you wish to continue with that setup, you will need a “BYPASS WIRE” installed on your new high torque starter. You can easily tell if you have a remote solenoid because there will only be one, heavy wire going to your original starter. This wire will "bypass" the solenoid on our starter. The bypass wire can be purchased via the dropdown selection upon checkout.
